James' development has been so rapid this month! It's amazing how much his motor skills have advanced. Exciting skills now include almost crawling, putting everything in his mouth, and holding his own bottle.

Gotta love livin' in Florida. The weather here is perfect... for now. The miserable days are on there way!
James is now mobile - which is funny. It was the fastest change ever. One day, he was only able to roll over and the next he was getting up on all fours. A couple days after that he was able to move backwards (that's right, babies crawl backwards first). While in the shower one day, I had James on the floor of our bedroom. I came out and he was almost entirely under the bed! The pictures below show the progression. All these were taken within a week.

Phase 1: James is on his stomach.

Phase 2: James under the bed - looking a little distraught.

Phase 3: Up on all 4s. Don't mind the drool, it's still a sweet picture.
In other news, James and Bandit, our dog, are the best of buddies. They totally entertain each other, which is wonderful. James does like to grab Bandit's fur, but Bandit is pretty nice about it.

We also just returned from California last weekend. We were able to stay with my dad which was great for all of us. James did great on the airplane - that was the longest trip we've taken with him. So he's now been on 4 round trip plane trips - KS via Denver twice, New Hampshire, and now CA.
We were out there for Jill's wedding. She was possibly the most beautiful bride ever and her wedding was so much fun!

Other exciting "firsts" for this month include: first time staying with a non-family member baby sitter (15 year old boy from church who did a great job), first night away from me (my sister, Marthaa, and my mom had him), and first email to Daddy (who knew babies like pounding on key boards too?!).
And James eats in a high chair now, which is wonderful.
He ate his first "cookie" yesterday. Really he just put it in his mouth and threw it on the floor. It's carrot flavored though, so I can kind of understand that!
Look at the wonderful hand mouth coordination!!
And a quick update on Tobias and I. I started nursing school earlier this week - yikes. Right now my mom is watching James for us and then Tobias' sister, Teri will help out this summer. Tobias is doing well and flying a lot.
