What a wonderful month!

While it's been a long time since we last did a blog post - I promise it's because we've been so busy.
The weather is still warm in Florida and we spent a wonderful afternoon at the beach.
While James still really enjoys the water he is now beginning to enjoy playing in the sand even more.My mom was out for a visit in mid-August as well. Here's a picture of Jill Mama and James watching some television.

The real reason this past month was so busy is that I finally graduated from nursing school. Yippee! My dad, his girlfriend and Tobias parents were all able to come out to help us celebrate my accomplishment.
James was able to open his birthday presents early that Grandpa and Grandma Walters brought from Kansas.
Here is a neat picture of Tobias and James all dressed up for my graduation.
Three generations of Walters! Here's Tobias' dad, mom, Tobias, and James. Notice the stick! It's really hard to get a toddler to stand still and the stick was the motivation we needed!
So what does a new nursing school graduate do? She asks her wonderful in-laws to stay with her kid so she and her husband can go on a week long Caribbean cruise!
This was our first time on vacation since our honeymoon almost 5 years ago and it was so much fun!
The only thing better than a honeymoon is a second honeymoon! Here we are in St. Thomas.
We also enjoying dressing up a couple of nights on the cruise. We highly recommend cruises to everyone - it was the most fun and most relaxing vacation ever!
Here we are saying goodbye to Grandma Edie after the cruise. James had such a great time with his grandparents. I don't think he noticed we were gone! Thank you Jim and Edie!
Honestly, James didn't drink this but I just thought it was so funny!
Here's a picture of Tobias and James washing Tobias' truck. This picture gives you a good idea of how tall James is now!

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

M-I-C-K-E-Y and a bunch of other fun stuff

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
