Mommy's Helper!

Nursing school is keeping me really busy, luckily I have James around to help me out. He helps me reach those high and hard to get to items. At his most recent appointment James was measured at 32 1/2 inches tall! He helps me put away groceries! And pick out what looks good for dinner. James now eats just about anything. I had him try tofu last week, and that wasn't a huge hit, but he tried it. Just tonight he ate tomatoes for the first time. James is also working hard on his table manners! The other night he actually used his fork. And of course, James always know how to make me laugh!! And he's potty training himself! James is so advanced -using the potty all by himself at only 10 months! And always the gentleman, he remembers to close the lid and flush. He washed his hands of course too! James also reminds me to take time and play! Work hard and play hard is James' motto. His favorite toys are still his trucks and tractors. Another one of James' favorite past times ...

Not a baby anymore!

Tobias and I were hoping to enjoy James as a baby for at least a year, but James has changed into a little boy the past week. He's absolutely amazing! By the way, he stands alone, he really does, but I just can't get a picture! He eats everything and will not let you feed him. He loves fruit (especially peaches), animal crackers, peas (yes, peas) and cheerios. He will eat pretty much anything - including steak and tuna fish. Here's a video of James eating cheerios and peas. I think it's hilarious because he's "talking" throughout the entire thing! Good thing he has all those teeth to help chew his food. He has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Bandit and James are still best friends. When we come home from day care they are so excited to see each other . James is doing great at daycare. This is a picture of James on his first day of school. I am having a hard time being away from him for so long, but he seems to be happy and is developing importa...

We Survived Tropical Storm Fay!

We have received a lot of rain the last two days, but we've made it through the storm. We lost power for most of the last night and this afternoon, but other than that, it was uneventful. We were able to take the dog for a quick walk yesterday morning. James loves his walks with Bandit. He actually crawled into his stroller this afternoon, I guess trying to tell me he wanted his walk! With the rain we've had lots of time to read. We're reading 'Gifted Hands' by Ben Carson. It's a wonderful story and I think James is really getting motivated to study hard and have faith that God has wonderful plans for him too! =) To help me prepare for the storm James checked the weather on the laptop. He loves the computer. James also helped me take Tobias' truck to the shop earlier this week. He wasn't too sure about that truck though. In other exciting James news, he's eating a lot and is only drinking from sippy cups! Sweet potatoes are his favorite! Yum...

Such a fun kid!

My last post got a bit of complaints for having too many pictures of Tobias (mostly from grandparents), so I'll make up for it in this post with lots of pictures of James! Tobias has been gone for just over a week now. This picture is actually one from his homecoming, and I just got it. Before Tobias left, we had a tailgate - Walters style! James didn't really get any donuts or coffee, but he seemed to enjoy his Cheerios and milk! And there was plenty of playtime with Daddy too! I think this picture is so funny! Tobias and James just after bath time the night before Tobias left. Look at those beautiful blue eyes on both those guys! The morning Tobias left one of James' top teeth popped through. He now has 3 teeth and the other top front tooth is just about out! You can kind of see the top tooth in this picture. I realize this isn't the best picture, but I think it's so cute to see James looking all athletic and enjoying his books. We moved James into a tod...

Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea

Many people are familiar with the saying, Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea. A great saying, unless of course, you're the Sailor! =) So for our friends who don't know what Sailors do at sea (I won't go in to what Sailors do in port!), here are some pictures of Tobias' adventures. They fish. This is a bull Mahi Mahi one of the guys on Tobias' boat caught while underway. We're proud of Tobias' fish too, although it's no Mahi Mahi! This is actually a picture of Tobias peacock bass fishing in Panama. And after they fish, they feast! Here's a fun steel beach picnic the guys enjoyed. When there's time, they golf. This is probably new to some of the old Sailors, but nowadays, Sailors enjoy Wii Golf! This is the skipper of Tobias' boat and a fellow pilot enjoying some golf. Ahh, yes... they sleep! This is Tobias' Air Boss taking a bit of snooze on the flight deck. I said I wouldn't go into what Sailors do in port, but this is G...
