Mommy's Helper!

Nursing school is keeping me really busy, luckily I have James around to help me out. He helps me reach those high and hard to get to items. At his most recent appointment James was measured at 32 1/2 inches tall!He helps me put away groceries!

And pick out what looks good for dinner. James now eats just about anything. I had him try tofu last week, and that wasn't a huge hit, but he tried it. Just tonight he ate tomatoes for the first time.

James is also working hard on his table manners! The other night he actually used his fork.

And of course, James always know how to make me laugh!!And he's potty training himself! James is so advanced -using the potty all by himself at only 10 months! And always the gentleman, he remembers to close the lid and flush. He washed his hands of course too!James also reminds me to take time and play! Work hard and play hard is James' motto. His favorite toys are still his trucks and tractors.Another one of James' favorite past times remains swimming. I finally got him to the pool last weekend and he was so happy to be back in the water. And he helps me organize his book case! In this picture James is standing. I know it's hard to tell, but this is the best standing picture I've been able to snap! He stands a lot now.And he gets himself ready for school and is patient with the crazy schedule I have him on. He's doing great at daycare and is still one the happiest babies you'll ever meet. His social skills are amazing now too! He's learned how to wave bye-bye and blow kisses.

And I just had to show off this picture - he looks so excited to be heading up the stairs to get ready for bed. After all the help he gives me, I guess he must be super tired.

Tobias gets home in about 2 weeks (we're so excited), so relief is on the way. James is super excited to see his Daddy again.

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
