Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love the food and there is no pressure like there is with Christmas. This Thanksgiving weekend has been wonderful. We started off the celebration by ringing the Salvation Army bell on Tuesday afternoon. James was a big hit! Sorry we didn't get pictures of that.

James' school hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon on Wednesday that Tobias and I were able to attend. They had all the kids decked out like little pilgrims. It was super cute!

My dad came out on Wednesday evening. He hadn't seen James since May, so they had a lot of catching up to do.

Chris, a friend of ours who is a ROTC instructor at Villanova, came down for the day too. Chris and James had a great time together - too bad Chris only stayed for dinner on Thursday before heading back up North.
James enjoyed his first piece of pumpkin pie on Thursday too. It was obviously a big hit!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. We usually don't let James watch tv (or eat pie), but since it was a special occasion I put it on. James was so funny!

Tobias and James working together to get the dishes washed after dinner. I love this picture!

I also wanted to share some pictures of James from the past couple of weeks.

James is listening to Daddy's heart beat with my new stethoscope. I won't let him play with it once I take it to the hospital, so I'm glad he enjoyed it now!

Vroom Vroom! James playing with one of his birthday toys.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It's amazing to see the changes from month to month be sooo drastic. It's so neat that you did this so he will be able to have this to look back on. He is soooo loved and such a happy , cute little boy. You're getting him ready for a good career later. (Dr. maybe)Also showing him how to give of himself. Great parents you two are!!!

You guys are definitely great parents! I love the video of him watching the television (especially since I've really never seen him walk around before!), and I love the crazy look that comes over his face when he's eating that pie - like "Woman, you better NOT come over here and try to take this delicious pie! It's delicious!" He has that same "You've been holding out on me!" look that he had with the birthday cupcake! So cute!

The little guy is getting so big! I'm glad to see that Tob was home for Thanksgiving. Is he back on a cruise or are they back in port now?

I also wanted to ask you a question about Tob's email address. I sent him an email recently but it was returned to me as undeliverable. Has he changed email addresses? If so what is it?

Have a Merry Christmas!

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
