Birthday Time!

It's birthday season in the Walters' house. First comes Tobias, who turns 32 today! Then my birthday is on the 23rd. James will be 1 on November 2. One year old! It is so exciting! Everything is more fun with Tobias around! I think Tobias can find fun anywhere. Plus, James is fearless, so they have lots of fun! While Bandit may not be my mom's favorite dog, James loves him. It's kind of hard to tell since the picture is so dark, but James has Bandit's leash. James is getting so strong. He walks about half the time now! Hi James! Just a picture of James playing on the stairs and waving to me. James is showing off his new cars Daddy bought him last weekend. He is getting so big! This is a super sweet picture of my mom and James playing. My mom came down to visit us this week. She arrived late Thursday night and left Saturday morning. It was a short but fun visit. James playing around with the jogging stroller. He is such a happy kid, especially now that his dad is aro...

There's a New Sheriff in Town!

Tobias finally made it home about 8pm on Friday! James was so funny on the ride home. He just kept saying, "Dada" over and over again. We are so happy that Daddy made it home safely. We missed him. Tobias' first order of business was to get rid of those gorgeous curls James was sporting. I love his expression in this one. He looks so unsure, but willing to see what's going to happen. Can you believe all those curls?! How handsome he is with his new haircut. Before. After. To celebrate the first haircut, Tobias treated James to his first ice cream. They shared strawberry ice cream. You can kind of see in the ice cream running down his chin in this picture. This is just a funny picture of James chewing on a chicken bone. It's funny, plus it shows off his beautiful eyes. Story time with Daddy is so much fun! Look at James standing - so big! Tobias has been great with James. They spent all day Monday together and are just two peas in a pod. James has become really ...

Mommy's Helper!

Nursing school is keeping me really busy, luckily I have James around to help me out. He helps me reach those high and hard to get to items. At his most recent appointment James was measured at 32 1/2 inches tall! He helps me put away groceries! And pick out what looks good for dinner. James now eats just about anything. I had him try tofu last week, and that wasn't a huge hit, but he tried it. Just tonight he ate tomatoes for the first time. James is also working hard on his table manners! The other night he actually used his fork. And of course, James always know how to make me laugh!! And he's potty training himself! James is so advanced -using the potty all by himself at only 10 months! And always the gentleman, he remembers to close the lid and flush. He washed his hands of course too! James also reminds me to take time and play! Work hard and play hard is James' motto. His favorite toys are still his trucks and tractors. Another one of James' favorite past times ...

Not a baby anymore!

Tobias and I were hoping to enjoy James as a baby for at least a year, but James has changed into a little boy the past week. He's absolutely amazing! By the way, he stands alone, he really does, but I just can't get a picture! He eats everything and will not let you feed him. He loves fruit (especially peaches), animal crackers, peas (yes, peas) and cheerios. He will eat pretty much anything - including steak and tuna fish. Here's a video of James eating cheerios and peas. I think it's hilarious because he's "talking" throughout the entire thing! Good thing he has all those teeth to help chew his food. He has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. Bandit and James are still best friends. When we come home from day care they are so excited to see each other . James is doing great at daycare. This is a picture of James on his first day of school. I am having a hard time being away from him for so long, but he seems to be happy and is developing importa...

We Survived Tropical Storm Fay!

We have received a lot of rain the last two days, but we've made it through the storm. We lost power for most of the last night and this afternoon, but other than that, it was uneventful. We were able to take the dog for a quick walk yesterday morning. James loves his walks with Bandit. He actually crawled into his stroller this afternoon, I guess trying to tell me he wanted his walk! With the rain we've had lots of time to read. We're reading 'Gifted Hands' by Ben Carson. It's a wonderful story and I think James is really getting motivated to study hard and have faith that God has wonderful plans for him too! =) To help me prepare for the storm James checked the weather on the laptop. He loves the computer. James also helped me take Tobias' truck to the shop earlier this week. He wasn't too sure about that truck though. In other exciting James news, he's eating a lot and is only drinking from sippy cups! Sweet potatoes are his favorite! Yum...
