A day in the life of James

I wanted to share some fun pictures of us in KS with Tobias' family. The Jim Walters' family as of January 2008. Jim and Edie are holding James. In the back row is me, Tobias, Josh (21, student at Colby Community College), Crystal (28, speech pathologist in Denver), and Teri (18, senior at St. Francis Community High School).
James loves to smile. Here he is with Grandpa Jim laughing!
Grandma Edie and Grandpa Jim with James. This is their first grandchild - you can tell how proud they are!

On a completely different note, I wanted to share some pictures from this morning. For all those curious people out there, here's what James Douglas does in a typical day.

He wakes up - cute a button. Last night he slept really well.
Then time to eat and get ready for bath time. I wasn't able to get a picture of eating, but I'm sure everyone has seen a baby chowing down on a bottle.
And time for bath time. James loves bath time and is learning to splash and have some fun.
And after bathing and getting all lotioned up, he likes to just chill. He's a very mellow baby and enjoys looking out of the window or sitting in his bouncy seat. He's also just discovering his hands and he's close to getting those fingers in his mouth - ick!
After chilling for a while, he will nap for a while in his swing. Sounds like a fun day, but it's only 10:45am, so there's plenty more fun awaiting us this afternoon!

So cute! That one of him laughing is a keeper :) He looks very happy and content. I love the Jim Walters' family portrait too - it looks very formal!

On behalf of all the relatives far away too, thank you for the "day in the life of James" segment. I chuckled at your observations of his preferences of how he likes to spend his free time: "...after bathing and getting all lotioned up, he likes to just chill." I can imagine him saying, "Currently, my favorite activities include looking out the window, and maybe sitting in my bouncy seat. I haven't figured out how to work these legs, so pretty much I'm just confined to that right now. But in the future I hope to enjoy such activities as maybe crawling around, hitting my dog on his leg (when I can catch him), and getting into drawers I'm not supposed to." One can hope! Love ya sispot!

I would like to have a day like James' now and then. He does look so present in the morning. That's a plus. I was wondering how he liked bathtime. Ariana loves the water and hopefully he will too. Thanks for posting so good.
