Birthday Time!

It's birthday season in the Walters' house. First comes Tobias, who turns 32 today! Then my birthday is on the 23rd. James will be 1 on November 2. One year old! It is so exciting!
Everything is more fun with Tobias around! I think Tobias can find fun anywhere. Plus, James is fearless, so they have lots of fun! While Bandit may not be my mom's favorite dog, James loves him. It's kind of hard to tell since the picture is so dark, but James has Bandit's leash.James is getting so strong. He walks about half the time now! Hi James! Just a picture of James playing on the stairs and waving to me.James is showing off his new cars Daddy bought him last weekend. He is getting so big! This is a super sweet picture of my mom and James playing. My mom came down to visit us this week. She arrived late Thursday night and left Saturday morning. It was a short but fun visit.James playing around with the jogging stroller. He is such a happy kid, especially now that his dad is around. After church this morning Tobias and James were nice enough to let me take some pictures of them. Tobias looks super hot for 32!
And my personal favorite! Tobias is showing James the fountain near our house and they look so sweet together!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love the food and there is no pressure like there is with Christmas. This Thanksgiving weekend has been wonderful. We started off the celebration by ringing the Salvation Army bell on Tuesday afternoon. James was a big hit! Sorry we didn't get pictures of that. James' school hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon on Wednesday that Tobias and I were able to attend. They had all the kids decked out like little pilgrims. It was super cute! My dad came out on Wednesday evening. He hadn't seen James since May, so they had a lot of catching up to do. Chris, a friend of ours who is a ROTC instructor at Villanova , came down for the day too. Chris and James had a great time together - too bad Chris only stayed for dinner on Thursday before heading back up North. James enjoyed his first piece of pumpkin pie on Thursday too. It was obviously a big hit! My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. We usually don...

Summer, Summer, Summer Time!

We have enjoyed exploring more of Southern Maryland this past month. We explored a local light house! James and his ol' buddy tried out sailing at the local maritime museum. And James even tried his hand at being a pirate. Arrrr, Matey! But the best part of summer is enjoying time with our friends - fun while shucking some fresh corn. James is learning lots of new songs at his new school. Here is he is singing for your enjoyment while eating some lunch. One of the perks of living near a Naval Base is being able to enjoy a wonderful airshow. This was a special airshow this Labor Day Weekend, celebrating 100 years of Naval Aviation. This was James' first time seeing the Blue Angels fly. He was pretty impressed, but thought they were too noisy! In exciting family news - James is excited to announce that he will soon be a big brother. We are expecting a baby in late January.

James Has Arrived

Welcome to the world James Douglas Walters! He joined us yesterday at 6:16 pm Eastern Daylight Time. He weighed in at 7lb 14 oz and 21.5 inches long! He's long and lean. Tobias says we can call him 'Slim.' Everything with the labor went very well for the birth mother and I was actually in the delivery room for the birth. I also got to cut the umbilical cord. Wow, what an exciting experience. His birth mother did very well and seems to still be comfortable with her adoption plan. Tobias and I arrived at the hospital yesterday about 11pm, so we weren't really there for very long. While we waited we tailgated for a while (we needed some energy), which we thought was kinda funny. We stayed at the hospital until about 1am last night and were back this morning. Things are going so fast and it's such an amazing experience. We are so thankful for everyones thoughts and prayers. He's a very healthy baby - APGAR score of 9.9! We know you're just wanting to see p...
