Summer Excitement

We have traveled to Northern Minnesota again this summer to visit family and attend the Polk County Fair in Fertile, MN.  Tobias wasn't able to attend due to work commitments, but the boys and I had a blast.
James is now tall enough for all of the rides at the fair!  He was ready for the scary rides, but I wasn't!  He was able to do some of the big kid rides this year though - and loved them!

James loved the roller coaster!
James and two of his cousins on the slide!

Part of the fun is the food.  We enjoyed a treat every night and James' favorite was the ice cream!
Motorcycles are always fun!
Eli even attended the fair for a couple of hours.  Too much excitement for him this year, but we're pretty certain he'll have a blast next year!
Eli's favorite part of our trip was getting hugs from family!

James and Grandpa Mel enjoying a walk on the Walters Family Farm!
Goodies from our garden.  James and Tobias are quite the gardeners - lots of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and zucchinis!  Tasty, tasty, tasty!

Before...
After!
Tobias and James (in his Spiderman costume) gave Eli his first haircut!

Enjoying some time with his best buddy, Abby!  Love this picture!

Happy little guy - Eli is laughing just looking at James.  My boys play so well together!

Other than his big brother, Eli's other love in life is food!  This little man is loving solid food!
My boys looking sharp before school one day!
I had to laugh at this picture.  I found James in the baby's crib and my boys were having a great conversation.  Seeing this was a great way to start my day!

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

M-I-C-K-E-Y and a bunch of other fun stuff

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
