Boys will be Boys!

We really enjoy our boys!  I just never know what type of excitement the day will bring.  These guys sure know how to make life fun!
It's wonderful to have such a terrific role model for my boys.  Tobias is such a great dad!  Not to mention, a great looking husband!
Monthly photo of the boys with their bears.
FaceTime with family.  Technology is a great way to keep us in touch with family far away.

Now that Eli is more interactive, the boys really enjoy play time.
Play time with Daddy!

Look who's crawling!
You can tell how proud he is to be standing up!

It's fun to see what type of things Eli enjoys.  He's a total gear head!

James had a party at school to celebrate the new academic year.  They made special hats for the day.
Eli was excited for the big day at school too!

James is now a Dolphin at his preschool.  Here he is with his new teacher.  He's at the same school, but in a different preschool class.
James is blossoming in his new class.  Here is a crab he drew with a stencil and above he wrote "CRABB" We were so impressed!
James loves Legos and building.  He used his own money (he gets an allowance now) to buy the yellow Lego set.

I realize this is hard to see, but it's a pink circle James drew.  Then he divided it into equal pieces, showing off his mathematical skills and understanding.  He drew this all on his own!

Everyone got new shoes this month.  My new shoes are next to James' - I think this might be the last time my shoes are bigger than his!
Surely this outfit will land James on the best dressed list - well at least for 4 year old boys!  He dressed himself and this what he came down in - love it!

One morning James asked if we could eat breakfast outside and watch the birds.  I thought it sounded like a great idea, so that's exactly what we did!

We have to make time for fun time too - taking an ice cream break with our buddies at Chick-Fil-A!
James had swim lessons in August and loved them!  He loves to swim and was fearless jumping off the diving board.  For the Fall and Winter we have him enrolled in gymnastics, which he also enjoys.

Moms of boys make Jello brains with gummy worms for dessert.  This was a huge hit!
Our Nerf gun supply.  We each have one (except for Eli).  We enjoy Nerf gun battles!  Just part of being a mom of boys and it is a lot of fun!
James continues to request a baby sister and perhaps someday we'll enjoy some pink and princess stuff in our home.  But for now, we are beyond blessed to enjoy this time with our boys!

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

M-I-C-K-E-Y and a bunch of other fun stuff

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
