Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  We finished off 2012 in style - Army-Navy game, Christmas, and Elias' first birthday!

Tobias and I attended the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia which was so much fun.  Our boys stayed home with friends and had a great day too.
Army-Navy game!  Our first game since we were midshipmen back in 2002!
It was a neat "stunt" every seat had a card and together the stadium turned red, white, and blue.
Navy won!  We had a great time!  We hope to go again in a couple of years with our boys.
Christmas was so much fun!  Our boys really enjoyed the Advent season.  I worked on Christmas day, so Tobias took the boys to Christmas services and then they opened up one present that night.  We celebrated a day late and it was magical!

My handsome guys!
Mommy and her boys!

Both boys really loved the wrapping paper and received some wonderful gifts.
I gave each boy a Lego helicopter for Christmas, and they were a huge hit!
James with his new Cars learning computer, fun times!
We took a trip to Jacksonville to celebrate Elias' first birthday.  This enabled us to give the boys a shared first birthday experience.  We celebrated with our dear friends, nicknamed Grandpa and Grandma Sunshine, who hosted James' first birthday party too.  We also had the boys wear the same birthday boy outfit.

We celebrated Eli's first birthday!
The candle was really exciting!
And the cake with icing was so tasty!
It was a wonderful trip to Florida and great to celebrate with our dear friends.
We took Elias to the same barber shop we took James to for his first "real" hair cut.
Elias loved the hair cut.
So handsome!
Enjoying cuddles with my big boy!

We had a great time in Florida and are now back home in MD ready for 2013.  Happy New Year!

Your boys certainly are handsome and they must have been good because it looks like Santa treated then very good. It's so nice that you have started so many family traditions. Wishing you a healthy and happy 2013.

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

M-I-C-K-E-Y and a bunch of other fun stuff

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
