M-I-C-K-E-Y and a bunch of other fun stuff

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time.
We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.
We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW!
Everyone had a great time!

We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow.
By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute!
Gabe (age 4) and James got along great!
Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too.
Fun times on a ride with my little man!
Rrrr Matey!  Our two nephews became pirates one afternoon.
My awesome brother-in-law with 4 of the cutest boys in Florida!
The next couple of pictures are of James' first tattoo.  Yep - at Disney World!  We let him pick out whichever design he wanted and he picked out a tribal arm band.  Perhaps we'll see a real tattoo in another 15 years?!

James was so pleased with his tattoo!
Elias wanted to prove he was a tough guy too and picked out a fun Winnie the Pooh tattoo.
What fun is Disney without enjoying a Mickey Bar?  Elias really enjoyed his first Mickey Bar.
And of course, Disney can also be a bit tiring!
My two cutie pies.
Our four boys enjoying a feast of pizza and juice boxes.
While we spent a lot of time at the different Disney Parks, there was also plenty of time for cuddles.
JillMama and 3 of her grandchildren enjoy reading a good book.
Great Aunt Pat and Gavin enjoy some cuddles too.
Getting ready to meet the real Buzz Lightyear!
Smile!
The Claw!

James and Gabe fighting the Evil Emperor Zurg!
Eli getting ready to meet Lightening McQueen and Mater.
James and Gabe ready for some more fun!
It was a bit difficult to get pictures of the 4 boys together, but we did the best we could.

It was a wonderful trip and the boys had so much fun together.  We are already thinking about doing another big family trip in 2017!

We've also really enjoyed our time around home too.
MIT showing off the flag on 9/11.
The boys in a famous MIT statue.  James is really into inventing and robots so perhaps MIT will be a good fit, although right now he keeps telling us Harvard.  We shall see.  Eli hasn't decided quite yet!
Boston is well known for it's roll in American Independence but there is A LOT of great Civil War history here as well.
Fort Warren is located in the Boston Harbor and was a POW camp and fort built during the Civil War.  We took a ferry out and really enjoyed a great afternoon.
I apologize the lighting isn't great, but these guys are all smiling and having fun.
We met up with several of Tobias' MIT classmates while at Fort Warren.  A great looking bunch of really smart people!
Can you see the Boston skyline in the background?
A random but cute picture, I wanted to share from Elias' daycare daily newletter.  Elias and his best buddy from school!
For 10 days in August James was in Kansas visiting Tobias' family.  He flew all by himself and did great.
He had a great time on the farm and was able to attend the county fair.
Tobias' mom flew James back home and we enjoyed spending some time showing her around Boston as well.
The Duck Boat tours are a lot of fun.  The boys were even given the opportunity to drive the duck boat while it was the Charles River.
Elias took his job driving very seriously.
James treated us to a really fun morning before school started again.

Enjoying the Swan Boats in the Boston Commons.
Carousel rides for both boys.

And we finished off our morning by playing in the Frog Pond wading pool.
The summer was wonderful and we had so much fun.  Fall is off to a great start too! School started right after Labor Day.  James is in first grade already!
He was so happy to get back to school and see many of his friends again.
Backpack is hung up and ready to learn.
Interesting stats for James' first grade year.

It's so wonderful to see the boys growing up and having so much fun and so many adventures. They're both getting so big so fast. I love you school stat sheet. That's great to be able to look back at many years from now. Thanks for the blog!

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
