1 month old!

James has changed so much in the past month. He's actually 1 month and 2 days now, I wasn't as good at getting this posted as I wanted!

The plane ride home went very well. Luckily the plane was pretty empty so he got his own seat and slept all but maybe 10 minutes of the flight. Since we've returned home we've had lots of fun! We went to Tobias' squadron Christmas party, watched the Army-Navy game (Navy won!), and went to church for the first time.

First picture with Santa.

Ready for the Army - Navy game!

First time at church. He slept through most of the service - thank goodness!

Now for some additional pictures from our trip to KS. Aunt Crystal was nice enough to host a dinner and invite some family members over! It was great food and plus it gave James some time to meet some more family!

Great Grandma Leah can't get enough of Sweet Baby James!
Great Aunt Charlene with James. Don't they look great together - such a cute pair!

Great Uncle Rich and Great Aunt Mary with James. He's so loved already!James looking out the window just chillin. I think this was Sunday afternoon, his 1 month birthday!Look how big he is now! So handsome!A not so happy little elf! I thought it would be a cute picture, but James was sick of pictures by this point.

James this morning. The yellow duck paci (thank you Cousin Chad and Deb) and the rattle you can see in this picture are his current favorites.

Tobias left Monday morning early and will be gone for the next 10 days. James and I are doing fine, but please pray for us.

Man he's getting so big! He does not look 4 weeks old to me, more like 4 months :) And he has such an expressive little face, clearly he's very developed. Already ahead of his peers!

Love, Marthaa

Fast as the Flash

The boys have a need for speed!  Recently James and Eli built Pine Wood derby cars to compete in the James' Boy Scout troop. In the beginning... We did some scholarly research to prepare.  Thank you YouTube! My step-dad, AKA Pawpaw was a big help and taught James to use power tools. Sanding is always fun! James designed and built his car with minimal assistance. Spray paint is always fun. Added weights to make it as heavy as the rules allowed. The finished products! The race was a lot of fun! James didn't win but he worked really hard and was really proud of his car. While his derby car wasn't the fastest, James was the fastest in a recent track race.  My future Olympic sprinter!   Zoom zoom zoom

Everyone grab their Mickey Ears!  We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World.  We flew down to FL from MA, my sister and her beautiful family and my aunt and cousin all flew from CA, and my mom traveled from MO!   All 11 of us stayed in one beautiful villa right on the Walt Disney property and had a great time. We celebrated JillMama's 60th birthday in style.   We also celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday while in WDW! Everyone had a great time! We celebrated Halloween a little early at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!   Can you tell we're the Avengers!?!  Eli was the Incredible Hulk, Tobias was Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man), James was Captain America, and I was Black Widow. By the end of the night, the Incredible Hulk was done, but still really cute! Gabe (age 4) and James got along great! Elias and Gavin (also 2) were fast friends too. Fun times on a ride with my little man! Rrrr Matey!  ...

Winter in Boston

Happy February!  I can't believe I haven't updated since November when we've had such an exciting couple of months!   Our Lego family for Christmas 2014 designed by James!  There are a lot of firsts and developmental milestones in first grade!  James finished his first chapter book over the Christmas break!  So proud of him - he is reading above grade level. James also remains very active with track and is working with his gym teacher to start a running club at his elementary school! This was a fun assignment for the entire family.  Once he completed the assignment, James presented it to his class. We did family Christmas pictures this year with a great photographer.  We met at Minute Man National Park - where Paul Revere was captured- and had fun taking pictures together.  I worked the night before and it was cold out, but the pictures still turned out great! The 2014 Walters Family Christmas picture! My two cuti...
